Venue

The Workshop and the SICL Meeting will be held at the Biblioteca Classense in Ravenna. Ravenna is an old city which was the last capital of the western Roman Empire.

It is very famous for the Byzantine mosaics and its monuments which were declared by UNESCO “Heritage of Humanity”.

Ravenna is now candidate as European Capital of Culture for the year 2019.

The Biblioteca Classense (http://www.classense.ra.it/), website only in Italian ) is part of the large Abbey of the monastic order of Camaldolesi monks. The Abbey is an old Renaissance complex founded in 1512, with some Baroque architectural elements, like the library itself , rich of several paintings and frescoes, and the wonderful cloister (see figures below) .
